a prayer for the legacy of the beehive is a site-specific video installation created for the group show, Academy Hall Video Club, presented by Jim & Christa Whitten at West Suffield Academy Hall on November 23, 2024.

This projection map consists of 15 layers of video, much of which are home movie footage that my grandfather and mother filmed between 1947-1993. The earlier footage was originally filmed on color 8mm, then transferred to VHS by my grandfather, which I then transferred to digital. The rest of the video layers are video art that I’ve created. Part ritual, part affirmation, part prayer, these pieces are surrounded by supportive memories, and examine ways in which I send love to myself.
